The Netherlands will send a Patriot anti-missile defense system to Ukraine, Dutch news agency ANP reported today, citing a statement by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
Rutte is currently in Washington where he is making a visit during which he had a meeting with US President Joe Biden.
During his meeting with the US president, Mark Rutte informed Joe Biden that the Netherlands will join the US-German initiative to strengthen Ukrainian defenses against Russian invaders.
Earlier, Rutte had telephoned German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to inform them of the Dutch government’s decision.
It is recalled that Ukrainian soldiers went this week to a military base in Oklahoma, USA, to train in the use of Patriot systems.
